In the book of 'Midrash Petirat Moshe' ('The Death of Moses') of the Gemara, there's a mention here [pp144] of the heavens weeping:
The heavens wept and exclaimed, "The pious one hath departed; there is none upright among men".
Also a quick search at Sefaria for 'heavens wept' came back with few hits:
when the Lord gave Israel the Law, the earth was glad, and the heavens wept - Jastrow.
they wept bitterly, and with them wept the heavens, and the sun and the stars - Legends of the Jews.
You can ask at Mi Yodeya about their original sources.
But whether we can establish the quotes predate the Quran or not, this is just a common metaphor, and a rather flimsy miracle claim.
