On his reaching the oracle in its oasis, the priest gave him the traditional salutation of a pharaoh, as son of Amon

As brother of Alexander, Ptolemy was the legitimate king of Egypt. He was a descendant of Zeus. He was the exposed child, the child whose father is not quite known and therefore may be divine. Such myths existed among many peoples.[49] In this special case, they implied a concept of Egyptian kingship according to which the king is the son of the highest god, of Amun-Re, the Egyptian equivalent of Zeus.

the notion of divine kingship entered the Greek culture after the death of Alexander the Great in 342 BCE. The Egyptians long before had looked at their kings as gods, and when Alexander the Great conquered his way into the land of Egypt, he took on the idea of the Egyptians and crowned himself as a god and pharaoh. After his death, the people of Hellenistic cultures began to take on the same idea of divine kingship. This idea was a major change from the cultural view of Greek kingship before Alexander the Great

the pharaoh was considered a god on earth, the intermediary between the gods and the people
https://www.ancient.eu/pharaoh/

Other gods and goddesses were worshipped by ordinary people in their homes.
